RECYCLING PARTNERSHIP LAUNCHED IN FORT MCMURRAY

The newest partnership, funded under ABCRC's Community Champions Program, provides infrastructure for the Fort McMurray S.P.C.A. to collect beverage containers from both businesses and community members. The new partnership provides many benefits for businesses and individuals that now have a convenient way to recycle their containers, the S.P.C.A. raises funds through retaining the deposits on the containers and the environment benefits by diverting more waste from our landfills - all while helping their furry friends. The Fort McMurray S.P.C.A. partnership provided funding for a secure martialling yard where containers from businesses in the region can be easily stored and sorted before being taken to the local bottle depot. It also allowed the S.P.A.C. to build fencing and sorting sheds for volunteers during the winter months.
The official launch of the Fort McMurray SPCA partnership with ABCRC was held on October 25, 2007 at the SPCA in Fort McMurray. Coleen West, President of the S.P.C.A, our mascot "M.T." and Guy West, President of ABCRC.

All the special guests - Reda from Advanced Bottle Depot, Jason from the BCMB, Coleen, Guy, Ron from the United Way and Debbie from MLA Guy Boutilier's office. A wall mural done by one of the local artists decorates the SPCA.
