About The Community Champions Program
The Community Champions Program (CCP) is a grant program that’s specially designed for organizations in Alberta. It is a uniquely positive approach to building participation in beverage container recycling. ABCRC provides funding for specialized recycling bins (indoor and outdoor) and program start-up support to CCP, providing more accessible and convenient out-of-home opportunities for recycling. The funding is allocated on a “first come first serve” basis until all the funds have been distributed or until November 30th, whichever occurs first. You can submit more than one application during the year, but can’t exceed a total value of $20,000 excluding GST. This keeps beverage containers out of landfills, and provides important financial and social benefits for communities.

Each year, hundreds of schools across the province of Alberta participate in the Every Empty Counts School Program. Through this program, over millions of containers have been collected, helping the environment and raising funds for schools. ABCRC is proud to support schools by providing infrastructure, prizing and teaching tools to participating schools.
