Recycle Single-Serve Containers
What are single-serve containers?
They’re smaller containers (less than 1 litre) and are sometimes referred to as single-serve containers. These include milk and yogurt drinks (HDPE), plastic water and pop bottles (PET), milk and cream cartons (Gable top) and juice boxes (Tetra packs).
For information on all recyclable containers and their rates, check out our Container Information page.
Why do they have a low return rate?
Most single-serve containers are typically consumed on the go and away from home. They are being disposed of at work, school, service stations and at large gatherings.
What can you do to help keep these containers out of landfills?
Remember to always recycle these containers! This means putting them in your bag or bringing them home, particularly when there’s no recycling bin around.
Need a bin in your area?
In the not-so-distant future we’re going to be inviting Albertans to place bins where they’re needed most. If you’re interested in participating, enter your email address below and we’ll notify you when the program starts.
